Plain-English summary

COIverify is a tool that helps you verify certificates of insurance. It's not insurance advice, it's not a substitute for legal review, and it's not a replacement for your own judgment on risk transfer. Use it as a high-quality first pass and let your insurance broker or attorney handle the edge cases.

The service

We extract structured data from COI PDFs and check it against contract requirement templates you define. We return a verdict and exception list. We store the COI and alert you before expiration. That's the service.

What we don't guarantee

  • 100% extraction accuracy. AI extraction is very good but not perfect. Confidence scores are shown on every field. You retain responsibility for final verification decisions.
  • Detection of every fraudulent COI. Modern forgery techniques can evade automated detection. For high-stakes work, verify directly with the carrier.
  • Legal or insurance advice.COIverify doesn't provide legal advice or insurance advice. Talk to your attorney and your broker for those.
  • Uptime above the SLA tier you're paying for. Best-effort on Solo and Team. 99.9% target on Pro with credits for downtime.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: upload COIs you don't have authorization to upload; reverse-engineer the service; resell the service without a partnership agreement; abuse the rate limits; or use the service for anything illegal.

Pricing and billing

Stripe-billed monthly at the tier you select. Prices are public and listed at /pricing. Cancel from settings at any time; you keep access until the end of the billing period. Refunds are pro-rated at our discretion for good-faith reasons.

Data ownership

You own your data. You can export your COI library, contract templates, and audit logs at any time. If you cancel, we delete your data within 60 days of cancellation, except where law requires retention.

Termination

You can cancel from settings. We can terminate accounts for non-payment, abuse, or violations of these terms; we'll give 30 days' notice except in cases of fraud or imminent security risk.

Liability

Our total liability is capped at fees you've paid in the 12 months prior to the claim. We're not liable for consequential, incidental, or punitive damages. This cap doesn't apply to fraud or willful misconduct on our part.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes go to binding arbitration unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.

Changes

We'll email you about material changes 30 days before they take effect. The current version is always at /terms with the last-updated date at the top.
